Raise your hands if you have no idea what you are doing in life but want to travel!

The above statement describes my life to a tee.  I have no idea what I am doing with my life… I just know I want to travel.  (My hands are WAY up!)

I do not have a ‘career’.  I do not have a degree, or even some sort of talent I can capitalize on.  I scrimp and save and generally make many sacrifices so I am able to get on a plane and explore other parts of this world.  I am inspired by the bloggers who quit their jobs to travel full-time, but I am not (yet) in a position to do that.  I am sure that there are many others like me.  Not really having a set direction or plan for the rest of your life but knowing you really want to get out and see the world….

Travelling to new places pushes me out of my comfort zone.  Being a quiet person, I am often feeling as though I am a little out of my comfort zone anyway (even at home) but the difference is that at home there is always someone I can ask for help.  When I am travelling I must rely on myself.  Every situation I am able to solve on my own gives me confidence.  For me, travel is kind of like a form of therapy.

Travel opens your mind.  It shows you that there is not any one way of living or doing things.  It shows you that at our core, no matter how different we may seem to live or be, we all are actually very similar.  Our health is a priority.  We want our families to have opportunities and live in comfort.  We all want to be HAPPY.  Once you realize this, it is hard to feel any separation between countries and continents, or even people.  Everyone becomes someone to care about, even if you do not speak the same language.

So, for those of you who raised their hands and really want to travel, I hope you are able to find a way to do so.  Don’t allow life to get in the way or any minor setbacks to discourage you.  Make a plan and surround yourself with people who will keep you inspired and on track to reach your goals.  Keep dreaming big!!!
